Tartine et Chocolat, easily recognizable by the famous sky blue or pink stripes, is first and foremost a style, the style of Catherine Painvin who is still the unique designer of the whole product line. Started in 1977 with a line of birth gift, the brand is now offering a whole range of products for babies and children up to 16 including clothes, perfumes and soft toys. Despite its success, Tartine and Chocolat has opened only one shop in London. This rather old-looking store proposes mainly babywear and clothes for young children born in the middle-class society where baby girls are dressed in pink and boys in blue.
