The Jamaica

The City's oldest and greatest pub, The Jamaica Wine House (a.k.a "The Jampot"), re-opened in July 2002 in all it's former glory. Steeped in history, The Jampot was previously a coffee house in the 1650s, before being ravaged by the Great Fire of London and re-emerging as a meeting place for sugar, rum and slave traders in the 1740s. Today, Jampot treats include a delicious selection of luxurious sandwiches and an extensive range of exquisite wines, ports and sherries. Beat the lunchtime rush: email your lunch order through before 11:30am the same day and The Jampot team will have a scrumptious lunch waiting for you, on arrival. You can hire the Jampot's beautiful and intimate downstairs bar, for private functions and parties.
